The only request from the parents was that the room (11 m²) should have a cheerful decoration. As they don’t know yet the gender of the baby, the colors should match either a boy or a girl.
Different from most of babies’ rooms, neutral colors had no chance in this project. We chose for a colorful wallpaper, as well as both cradle and shelves in a vibrant yellow. We also included a small tiger-themed table beside the breast feeding armchair, and a straw pouf.Ideally, the interior design project should fit not only the needs from the newborn, but also the ones from his first years of age. So, we created a large sliding doors wardrobe with a dresser and a changer embedded in it. To reach them, just open one of the doors. This allows freer space in the room, which will be necessary to accommodate the lots of toys and accessories for the baby.
We also installed a large shelf along the whole wall to accommodate boxes as a lot of storage space will be necessary. Inspired in a Montessori style, we opted for a large mirror embedded in one of the doors of the wardrobe, as well as for a low book rack.
