Cheers speakers originated from an acoustic study on a small cylindrical resonance chamber, in the shape of a barrel.
A shape designed to obtain low frequencies from a small loudspeaker with no woofer. Tests then led designers to make a prototype which, by chance, looked something like a barrel.
It could have remained a vague resemblance, but, in Sicily, we were able to enlist the help of artisan barrel makers, who use manufacturing techniques handed down over the centuries to build a product unaltered by time.
Now, this thousand-year old form intended for wine has been paired with audio technology with surprising acoustic results, primarily due to shapes and materials that had always served an entirely different purpose. It’s not the first time that changing the purpose of things has inspired unique design, balancing tradition and technology.
This is a product for anyone who loves wine and music, ideal for anywhere wine is drunk: bars, restaurants and agritourism, but also perfect at home, as an alternative to standard, characterless speakers.
With a three inch loudspeaker, the Cheers speaker supports power from 10 to 75 w at 4/8 Ohm with 87.5 db efficiency. Cheers speakers are available in oak or chestnut, with table, wall or floor stands. You can also request a barrel stand with built-in amplifiers to connect to any device, directly with headphone jack or via bluetooth.
