Even on a small budget, it is not difficult to incorporate colours and patterns into a home. What presents a challenge is to maintain a balance to ensure that the colours do not overwhelm the space. This gorgeous home designed by Hardik Patil Architects in Virar, Mumbai makes smart use of colours to accentuate its look and add to its attraction. Apart from colour, the architects have relied on intelligent design and a modest choice of furnishings to create a coordinated and homely look.

Charming Entrance

The entrance of a home must be pleasing and functional. The tall cabinet allows the homeowner to store things easily. The counter on the cabinet has been used effectively to display décor accessories to make the space look beautiful.

Elegant Style

Wallpapers are an excellent way of making a style statement. A subtle pattern in gold distinguishes the wall behind the sofa from the others. Blue is the prominent colour, and a simple yet attractive artwork has been mounted on the wall. The sofa is also in a shade of blue, bringing the look together. Combining blues and greens, the architects have used a mixture of tones to make the living room stand out.

Coordinated Look

A simple room separator divides the space into a living and dining area.  Modest furniture designs give the room a spacious and open feel. Wallpapers have been used to provide the room with a certain fluidity and consistency. A false ceiling makes the area look well-designed. It has also allowed the architects to add lighting where needed.

Modest TV Unit

A small panel in white is all that the architects have used for a TV unit. Since the background has a wallpaper, the simple white panel has the desired effect in the room. Adding plants and greenery around the room has accentuated the beauty of the neutral colours here.

Homely look

The dining room has a cosy and warm look. The functional and modern chairs work great in the space. The white dining table makes a perfect contrast to the chairs. The bamboo lamp hanging from the ceiling gives the room a certain charm, making it the perfect cosy place to have meals.

Smart Furniture

By making intelligent use of the available space, the architects have designed a wardrobe that sits in one corner of the room. Extending from it, they have customised the perfect study desk, which has a cabinet above that works as a bookshelf.

Blue Bedroom

The colour blue has the power to relax and calm anyone. That is probably one of the reasons that it is ideally suited for a bedroom. The wall behind the bed has a rich textural finish. The other elements work in conjunction to deliver a beautiful theme in the room.
