When Milan-born Marco Braghiroli started his architectural firm in London, he set out to change the way we view residential spaces. With a passion for luxury and a wealth of knowledge, Marco introduced Prestige Architects to the world.

That was in 2009. And since then, Prestige Architects has gone on to produce a number of high-end, bespoke boutique residential projects – not only in London, but in the English countryside, Greece, Italy, Switzerland, Monte Carlo, as well as the Caribbean. The firm’s dedication to deluxe designs shines through with every project, as can be seen in the company’s ever-growing portfolio.

Speaking of which, we were fortunate enough to get a glimpse of one of Prestige Architects’ newest projects: the full refurbishment of a modern apartment in Kensington that was completed in summer 2019.

Let’s get inspired!

The client’s brief

So, what exactly was Prestige Architects approached with? With a request to give an 80m², two-bedroom apartment in a listed building a sublime new look. Since that is exactly what the firm does on a daily basis, this was more of an exciting opportunity than a headache.

And like always, the firm left no stone unturned in their quest for elegance. All stages of this project were tackled head on, from obtaining Listed Building consent to producing and tweaking design details for the interiors.

The luxurious results

A modern new look with just the right amount of dazzle was the end result. A batch of new materials were introduced into the final look, such as bespoke timber floors, newly designed kitchens and bathrooms, as well as pristine doors and finishes.

Here, in the U-shaped kitchen, a subtle colour palette adds to the culinary corner's visual spaciousness. Top-notch appliances bring a touch of shine, while a series of cupboards and cabinetry take great care of any storage needs.

Delicate little details

Even pass-through spaces, like the hallway, were part of the refurbishment. Take note of those floor-to-ceiling closets sporting a classic look – those gold trimmings perfectly complement the contemporary chandelier dangling from the ceiling! And the bespoke parquet flooring gracefully usher us from room to room.

Beauty in the bathroom

Natural materials abound in the bathrooms, especially in this one with marble and porcelain tiles (in a soft and welcoming design) stylishly covering the floors and walls.

Wood, in a delicious caramel tone, makes up the open-style vanity. And just see how it subtly floats above the tiled floor – a delicate trick to make smaller areas appear more visually spacious.

Effective bathroom storage

Just when you thought this bathroom was going to suffer in terms of storage, we switch views and show that immaculate (and elongated) cupboard in the corner, perfect to hide away a range of bathroom goodies.

Notice the stainless steel surfaces (the faucet, the towel heater… ) adding to the modern materials while also keeping the colour palette perfectly neutral.

Let’s explore a few more visuals that detail the exquisite new look of these interiors.

It’s still not too late to become trendy and incorporate 6 of the best interior colours for 2019  in your home!
