The homeowners of this Victorian townhouse in Kent chose the Longford design for their new kitchen after viewing our showroom in Felsted, Essex. They wanted a classic kitchen with a contemporary feel which was achieved by using a striking and bold colour palette.

The kitchen island, chimney and mantle, and the cabinetry around the fridge were all painted in “Off Black” by Farrow & Ball – one of the original Farrow & Ball colours and one of the most flattering due to its soft tone. The convex curved Longford corner cupboard, finished in period oak, perfectly compliments the concave curved base cupboards below, which together with the counter top cupboard are painted in Farrow & Ball “Matchstick”. The wine rack, housed in the central island unit, is also finished in period oak. The island cabinetry features a dark textured Black Anticato worktop, Franke ceramic sink and Perrin & Rowe tap while the surrounding worktop is a smooth engineered stone that is more scratch, water and stain resistant than the most durable natural stone on the market. The homeowners love to cook and entertain at home so the Lacanche range cooker is the Chemin model was a really excellent choice for the space available since it offers all the power of the Macon together with the added benefits of the versatile simmer oven and the extended hob. The counter top cupboard was designed with three large shelves providing plenty of storage for dry good, baking ingredients and even the microwave. There are also two spice racks in order to provide maximum storage for all the spices, herbs and seasonings.
